While awaiting the Millennium Commission’s formal announcement regarding funding approval, the Committee decided to organise a foundation stone-laying ceremony. This took place on the 24 & 25 August 1997. Pujya Swami Sachidanand performed the Bhumi Pujan and land sanctification, witnessed by Dr. L M Singhvi. This was followed by the stone-laying ceremony by Pujya Krishna Shanker Shastri accompanied by Manubhai Madhvani and Shardaben.
