Yoga Classes

The ancient tradition of Yoga can be traced back over five thousand years. The connection of mind with heart; and breath with movement creates a special resonance that all people can experience.

During class you will receive instruction on a variety of Yoga principles, ranging from Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Asanas (Yoga positions). Classes also incorporate meditation practice and advice on general well-being. Whilst Yoga classes are held at Gujrat Hindu Temple, the Yoga classes are secular. Come make new friends and enjoy the benefits of Yoga.

Yoga Class Information

Classes are held at Gujarat Hindu Society at the following days every week.

  • Wednesday 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Bringing a Yoga mat is advisable as the floor can be hard! Limited mats are available to be borrowed at the centre.

Level of Yoga experience: Classes are for practitioners of all levels. Instructors will give options for modified poses for beginners or those that feel that they do not have the strength, flexibility or balance to perform certain movements. Yoga is not about ambition or outward achievement. Flexibility and strength will come over time and diligent practice, the central point is connecting with your breath and the experience that this generates.

You can talk to the class instructor before the class if you have any questions, or contact us through the blog, email or by phone. We are always happy to hear from you and will do our best to answer any questions you may have.
