The GHS Temple provides a focal point for the local community and a place where people can celebrate Hindu festivals. These include:
Cultural and Religious visits are conducted at Gujarat Hindu Society, Preston to a wide variety of people. The groups include Lancashire Constabulary, National Probation Service, Fire and Rescue Service, Educational Department – LCC, Schools, Colleges and Universities in the North West. The cultural tour is divided in to the following topics, which are presented to the different groups: - The history and development of Gujarat Hindu Society and Mandir, followed by a guided tour of the centre
The redevelopment of the temple is described in detail in a publication entitled "Preston Mandir." The book provides an overview on Hinduism, the faith and its practices and how communities around the world have evolved around the Hindu philosophy. It also recounts in-depth practical experience of the development of the Gujarat Hindu Society in Preston covering the progress made in the last 30 years.
